The Vision

Bridgeport (Park City) is the largest city in Connecticut and the fifth largest in New England. It is an urban coastal city located approximately 1.5 hours from New York City. While the city struggles with drugs, violent crimes, and broken homes, the most concerning issue is the absence of a separated, New Testament independent Baptist church. Bridgeport faces higher poverty and unemployment rates than the state average, leaving many residents in difficult financial and social circumstances. However, this city isn’t all bad. Bridgeport boasts a range of middle-class neighborhoods, creating a solid foundation to build a core group of committed individuals. Furthermore, its proximity to affluent areas provides a unique opportunity to engage and reach communities beyond Bridgeport. Together, these dynamics make the city a ripe mission field, filled with potential for transformative ministry.

My vision is to bring hope and transformation to Bridgeport by sharing the life-changing power of the gospel and establishing a healthy New Testament, independent baptist church! I believe every person has the potential to break free from cycles of drugs, poverty, and crime and step into a renewed life filled with purpose and peace. Through God’s love, I envision a city where lives are rebuilt, hearts are healed, and individuals become new creatures empowered to make a lasting difference in their families, neighborhoods, and beyond. I believe God can use us to make disciples and establish churches in cities without a gospel-preaching, separated New Testament church. Since my youth, God has instilled in me a powerful vision for the city—one I cannot ignore. Like Paul in Acts 9:6, who asked, “Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?” the answer is clear for me as well: “Go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” This is my calling—to step into Bridgeport with faith, courage, and the conviction that God can bring revival to this great city.

Anthony

Anthony grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey, surrounded by drugs, gangs, and violence. At home instability and hardship were constant struggles. Hoping for a fresh start, his father moved the family to Somerset, but old problems returned, and they drifted away from church. One night, amid family chaos, he realized he didn’t want to follow the same path. He began attending church on his own, and in 2015, at Teen Camp, he accepted Christ as his Savior. A week later, he felt called to preach, driven by a desire to help others with similar experiences. Encouraged by his youth pastor, he attended a Christian school and later Bible college, where he earned a degree in Pastoral Theology. It was there that God clarified his calling to inner-city ministry. During his final semester, he met his wife, Leah. The couple began dating and were married in 2022. God then blessed them with a baby girl named Adalee in 2023

Leah

Leah, born in Connecticut, made a profession of faith at five, led by her mother. Shortly after, her family fell out of church, and during her teenage years, she drifted from the Lord. After high school, she hit rock bottom, feeling empty and depressed, realizing the world had nothing to offer. At her mother’s urging, she began reading the Bible and growing in her faith. When their church closed due to COVID, her family found Riverside Baptist Church, where she deepened her understanding of Scripture and learned to live a surrendered life. In the summer of 2021, she felt called to leave community college and attend New England Baptist College, graduating in 2023 with an associate degree in office administration. For nearly three years, they served together at Riverside Baptist Church, where Anthony was an assistant pastor and led the young adults and social media ministries. After much prayer and seeking God’s direction, they knew God was calling them to Bridgeport, Connecticut. In November 2024, they surrendered to this call, believing God has prepared them to reach and serve the people of Bridgeport through the power of the gospel.

Pastor David Townsley

Riverside Baptist Church, Terryville, CT

The Frazers have grown, learned and served at Riverside Baptist Church. God is blessing their ministry and has now directed them to Bridgeport. Riverside is fully behind them and will be working closely with them to start this new church.

Pastor Jim Townsley

Central Baptist Church, Southington, CT

Anthony Frazer was saved through the ministry of a strong fundamental church in New Jersey. Soon after he was saved, he enrolled at New England Baptist College. Though his background was not from a strong Christian family, he began to grow and mature. Few young men facing similar challenges have responded so well to making the necessary changes in their lives. Anthony has become a strong Christian and a vibrant witness for Christ. Our church is supporting him wholeheartedly and can recommend him and his wife without reservation.

Most Christians in America are more bothered politically than they are burdened spiritually about the condition of our cities. We’ve got to get back into the cities of America with the Gospel.
